I'm Yorrick Jansen, a freelance AI Architect based in Montreal. I partner with founders to build MVPs and take AI products from concept to production, with technical foundations that grow with the business.

I currently work with AURA on a freelance contract as Solutions Architect. AURA is a hospitality AI startup where I was the first engineer brought on. Our AI agents serve hotel guests across voice, text and email. I own the platform architecture, infrastructure, security, reliability and daily operations, and lead the move from no-code workflows to a serverless AWS platform. I also establish AI engineering practices, including evaluations, LLM tracing and quality pipelines for real conversations.

My background spans 19 years of cloud and data engineering across gaming, scientific publishing, automotive, finance, healthcare and advertising technology. Highlights include a white-labeled game telemetry platform at Phoenix Labs and serverless, real-time data processing migrations at 1Science, later acquired by Elsevier.

I choose the tools that fit the problem, from n8n, Vercel and Supabase to AWS, Terraform, Pulumi, FastAPI and Spark. With 3 AWS certifications and hands-on experience in conversational AI, I focus on systems that are useful, reliable, secure and cost-effective.
